April 5th through April 7th, Odessey Early College and Career Options’ Teachers, Andrea Aragon and Andrea Friesema, took 11 students  to Denver,Colorado to compete in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America’s (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference.  The students that attended were Sarah Banfield, Megan Cowden, Haylee Higbee, Jasmyne Frappier, Azlina Romero-Vasquez, Riley Ballard, Britnee Ridgeway, Sierra Harnick,  Mary Eagn, Piper Hodor, Michaela Glova, and Sierra Glovan.

FCCLA is a non-profit organization that is for students through the grade of 12 that are in any Family and Consumer Science class. It is the only Career and Technical student organization that has family as its central focus.

Sarah Banfield, a Senior at Odyssey Early College and Career Options, won a gold medal in the Star Event called

Thematic Table Setting. Jasmyne Frappier, Rylee Ballard, and Azlina Romero Vasquez, all Seniors won a silver medal for Culinary Arts. Sophmores at Odyssey Early College and Career options, Haylee Higbee and Megan Cowden, won a bronze medal for their Entrepreneurship project called Dye Hard- a tie dye company.

Sierra Glova competed in the Career Investigation: Crime Scene Investigator and she also won a silver medal.

Piper Hodor,a student that attends Goal Academy,competed in an Illustrated Talk about Teen Dating Violence.

Mrs.Aragon and Mrs.Friesema won Master Advisor Awards for there impeccable work advising their students!
