At the Roy J. Academic Campus, the Bijou School has gained a new staff member. Eva Syrovy joined Bijou this fall for the 2017 – 2018 school year.  Syrovy taught at School District 11’s Galileo Middle School, where she was a Special education teacher.

Originally, she attended Texas Christian University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Syrovy eared her second degree, a Bachelor’s in Geology, from the University of Washington. Her third degree, a Master’s in Special Education, she received when she attended University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

In her free time, Syrovy enjoys riding her bike and draws portraits. She is a wonderful artist, when it comes to drawing others.  Since being at Bijou, she has grown quite fond of the school.  She says she “finds the kids to be truly delightful”.   Teaching “keeps her on her toes”, and she likes the variety of things to be done.
