The College Readiness Program lets students explore the college campuses, the  majors/minors each college offers, and asking college admissions staff any questions they have about that specific campus.  Recently Kris Gray, The Bijou School’s counselor, took eight students to CSU Pueblo to take a tour of the campus.

During the tour, a student from the college showed the Bijou students around the campus. They visited the Recreation room, Cafeteria, and multiple department buildings like the Psychology building, Life Sciences building, and the Physics/Math building. Also, the tour guide showed them inside one of the dorm rooms and explained how dorm living was organized and managed.

The tour guide shared many of the cool things students can use on campus,  if they want to or need them.  This included the health center, a six-floor library, and a exercise area. All of these services are free, except the health center, which provides college students with 3 free visits, after that they have to pay a small fee.

The Bijou students were really impressed with the CSU campus.

The Physics and Math Department buildings had a telescopes that students could hook up their phones to and they could see through the telescope and take a photo on their phones of what they saw.

CSU  also offers the 3 + 2 Program which allows student to earn both an undergraduate degree and a masters degree in 5 years.  This is available to students in Biology, Chemistry, or Bio-Chemistry.   CSU participates in the WES tuition exchange program in Western States.  This program allows a few students from participating States to attend at in-State Colorado tuition rates.

The beautiful CSU campus impressed all of the Bijou students who left with a lot to think about and consider.
